My experience with McKinley Rice was mixed. While the initial communication was polite and professional, the overall hiring process felt unclear and somewhat unstructured. At times, it was difficult to understand whether they were genuinely interested in moving forward with the hire, as the intent wasn’t clearly communicated.
One major concern was the lack of a single accountable person for the hiring process. I often found myself going back and forth between different leads, waiting for updates, which resulted in longer waiting times than expected. The interview results were also delayed, creating uncertainty from one stage to the next.
Additionally, the budget and role expectations weren’t clearly defined, making it hard to understand what exactly they were looking for in a candidate. The interview rounds themselves were not very sophisticated or in-depth, especially the L2 level, which made the process feel less structured compared to other companies.
Overall, McKinley Rice has potential, but streamlining their hiring process, clarifying expectations, and improving communication would make the candidate experience much smoother.
