      LAMP Systems Administrator Interview

      Application

The process took 1 day. I interviewed at MediaFire (Houston, TX) in Apr 2011

      Interview

The experience felt a bit surreal. I walked into the office building was greeted by the receptionist and soon someone shook my hand told me his name and asked me if I was ready for the test, I sat down in front of a computer and answered perhaps 40 questions, some multiple-choice, some were supposed to be one paragraph long. Questions ranged from "what is the default HTTP SSL port" to mysql syntax. Once that part of the test is over there is another form to fill out on the computer, this time it asks you what your expectations are, what you want to do in the future, what is your dream job and why you'd like to work at media fire. That last question was interesting, taking into account that no once spoke more than 10 words to me during the entire process, there was no tour of the place, no explanation of the HR process...nothing at all, in and out in about 20 minutes, so why do I want to work at mediafire? I have no idea.
