      Analyst Interview

      22 Feb 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at MetTel (New York, NY) in Jan 2016

      Interview

Possibly one of the strangest (and worst) interview processes I have ever come across in my life so far. It would take a lot to top this but anyway I applied online, got a call with a day or two to speak with the recruiter over the phone. Shortly after doing that, I was told to come in to interview on site. I came in, filled out an employment application and what appeared to be a personality test and then met with another person but not the actual hiring manager. I sat down to speak with her for a few minutes, then performed one of the dumbest excel "assessments" ever which really doesn't prove anything. If you really want to see someone's excel proficiency, give them an assignment or project and see what kind of results they can produce but this was just ridiculously dumb. I was informed that I would be receiving a follow up call for the next steps to meet with the hiring manager but days went by and NOTHING. I got nothing, no call, no email, nothing. I was finally able to get in touch with them after spending days emailing and calling and they told me, they were unable to offer me employment at that time and to think, I never even interviewed with the hiring manager so what basis are they basing this off of? Just a very negative experience overall and a very unprofessional company. I would not recommend anyone to work here nor be a customer of theirs. I heard their service really sucks too, well my my my, am I not surprised.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at MetTel (New York, NY)

      Interview

3 round interview with an excel and personality test after the 1st round, got a generic rejection letter after the 1st round but got called back 2 weeks later, - Be prepared to talk about your experience in depth. The hiring managers will ask you alot of questions based off how you describe your experience. Not much on the behavioral side. Only negative is that my process took almost 3.5 months before an offer went out. Eventually chose a more exciting opportunity. I also would agree with the vibe other reviewers left, MetTel does not seem like a good place to work. HR lady was very nice - I just wish they could have wrapped things up faster instead of dragging it out.
