      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Midwest Foods (Chicago, IL) in Sept 2017

      Interview

This was by far the most bizarre and unprofessional interview, I've ever been a part of. I waited over an hour to actually talk to someone and at some point I even the interviewers eating lunch while they had people waiting for an interview. You can clearly tell they were looking at the resume for the first time and it was so rushed, I feel like anytime I tried to talk I was cut off before I was done. The way they handle interviews definitely needs to change, because if you haven't even screened the applicant, don't make them wait hours, when you can just schedule a phone interview as a first step. You're there to interview an applicant, not criticize their experience. I feel that they were looking for things to judge me on, for example there was a software I have experience in and they continued to tell me, " I don't know, I've never heard of it before and we just don't know." You could easily google it, if you haven't heard of it before, not point it out to me as if I was lying. Lastly, they made me feel as if my experience wasn't "right." This company focuses alot on recruiting within the community, whcih I think is awesome! Most of my recruiting experience has been done through universities and campus events, and she continued to say that's not what they're looking for in terms of applicants. Which obviously, I understood but why set an interview with me then??? This interview just made no sense to me and I was very overdressed. Lastly, the benefits at this company sounds horrible! Your employees deserve better! Offer a "decent" benefits package. Towards the end, I was in shock that I didn't even ask any questions, I just wanted to leave. I haven't heard back after a day, and I have no doubt I didn't get the job, which is fine, but this HR department definitely needs to take employee and applicant suggestions to provide a better service.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Midwest Foods (Chicago, IL) in Feb 2015

      Interview

The interview process as Midwest foods was extremely unprofessional. I arrived dressed more than appropriately and ready to have a sharp discussion in regards to my background, experience and what the position had to offer. The questions were extremely bizarre to say the least and lacked challenge. The impression I got from this HR department was lack of organization, or any direction & knowledge of what they were doing. I did not quite understand what the purpose of the role I was interviewing for was even trying to accomplish. The company came across as a really nice bunch of siblings who had a wonderful family owned business, yet the sibling who ran the HR department seemed to really have no idea on what she was doing, from an HR standpoint. Overall, this interview process gave me an awful vibe of the company. Last, the time in which they took to turn around and answer whether I got the position or not was too long for a position they seemed eager to fill. I had sought other more ideal positions.
