Very straightforward. There was a pre recorded interviewing process where you answer questions and record your answer. Most companies are moving this way. If you get through this round, you then are followed up with a phone screening.
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Mindshare in Jul 2016
Interview
Had a negative candidate experience with an unprofessional contract recruiter.
Applied online on the Mindshare website. Their job posting for an intern was only 1 day old.
Was emailed by the contract recruiter the next day asking me to call her and let her know if I was available to speak the following week. I called and she had answered and there was some bustling in the background (sounded like she was busy). I let her know I was available to speak the next week.
She never sent a confirmation email for our phone screening. Two days later I send an email to confirm our phone call just in case so that we have it in writing since she sounded busy at the time I called her.
The time and day we had set up came. Three minutes pass and I receive a phone call from the contract recruiter.
She starts off the phone conversation saying she expected ME to call HER.
What kind of recruiter wants you to call them at the scheduled time of a phone screen and not the other way around..?
I've never been asked this or have been expected to call the recruiter with any company I've ever interviewed with. She also sounded kind of mad that I sent her an email because she thought our phone call the previous week was confirmation enough.
She then asks about my available start date (which is already on my application). I let her know that school starts and I can be in the area as early as 4 weeks. I let her know that my start date was flexible as I can come earlier than when school starts.
She stated the manager needed to fill the spot ASAP. I asked if pertinent to this phone screen, if the manager would be available for a Skype interview "it wouldn't be Skype, it would just be a phone screen. now that I think about it she would probably want to interview in person". So you're telling me the job posting is less than a week old, and she's expecting to phone screen candidates, interview them, and make a selection in less than four weeks? She simply didn't want to work with me although I continued to be flexible, and she just ended up cutting off our conversation short stating that she would contact me or keep in touch if anything changes "like if we can't find anyone".
I didn't get to find out more about the role or get any insight on the company. She didn't even phone screen me, the phone call was three minutes long. She completely wasted the I spent preparing for this and to take the call, and offended me as I feel like I wasn't taken seriously just because I'm young and applying for an internship position. She didn't ask me anything about myself and cut to the point as it seems like she just wanted to fill the spot asap.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Mindshare
Interview
Super casual, mostly behavioral and some "why are you interested" questions. Really just wanted to know a bit about who I was, what my interests were, to see if I could hold a conversation, etc...
