Was extended an interview after following up on my application. Interview was with 2 people (residential controller and another who didn't introduce her name or title) and lasted under 50 minutes. Both interviewers seemed disinterested, not engaged or warm throughout the interview, which made it challenging to assess how seriously my candidacy was being considered.
One interviewer turned off her screen midway through one of my responses, turned it back on and then proceeded to giggle and laugh at something unrelated for the remainder of my response. Shortly after, the other interviewer then flatly said not to give such detailed responses, with the first interviewer sarcastically thanking me for "such a detailed response". These moments contributed to an overall atmosphere that felt unclear and somewhat unprofessional. Later, I made an effort to connect my background and relevant experience to objectives of the role described by the controller, and expressed my enthusiasm in contributing to the team. However, it didn't seem to elicit any engagement or interest from either interviewer.
An accounting skills assessment was mentioned at the beginning and again during the interview, but wasn't administered or addressed by the end, despite there being nearly 15 minutes of scheduled time remaining.
I applied to MRR based on the values and culture highlighted on their platforms, which I genuinely found resonating and appealing. This interview experience did not align with those values, leaving me uncertain about the company’s internal culture, team dynamics, and overall environment. I was offered to interview for a lateral role with the VP but declined to move forward. I still appreciate the opportunity and my interactions with the VP, and wish them all the best.
