At one point I thought I was interviewing for a C-level position. They wanted me to do six (yes, six!) rounds for an Account Manager position paying £58k.
1) Initial screener with HR
2) Interview with Team Lead
3) Interview with Sales Lead
4) Panel interview with Team Lead, Sales Lead and CS Lead, presentation covering 3 questions
5) Interview with BD Country Manager
6) Interview with Regional Head of Sales
I got as far as round 5 then they rejected me because my presentation wasn't as close to what a Mixpanel presentation should be. The expectations of companies wanting job applicants to present like they are existing employees has gotten far too unrealistic. If you want someone to hit the ground running, just hire internally. Also, the total time from applying to rejection took around 4 months, with communication breaking down a lot. Definitely dodged a bullet.
