First interview was a 30 minute conference call with someone in HR, a principle engineer, and an engineering associate. It involved questions on my future goals and interest in Modus. I was informed the next week through the recruiter that Modus wanted to do an onsite interview and they would pay for rental car, gas, and hotel (I live in a different state.) Onsite interview involved a tour of the office, a discussion with a younger EE who showed me the software he uses, a panel interview with 2 principle engineers and someone from HR, and a dinner interview. I was asked during the panel interview if I was interested in the job I applied for (power and lighting design), or one involving AV and data design. Modus really pitched themselves as a small and intimate company with a thriving culture. The dinner was at a brewery that they did the MEP design for, which was really cool. Everyone was friendly, but I could tell they were underwhelmed with my lack of experience. I was informed the next week that Modus would not make me an offer.
