I recently had the opportunity to interview with Moonshot for a role I ultimately accepted, and the experience was overwhelmingly positive. The process was seamless, well-structured, and thoughtfully executed. Everyone I interacted with was not only professional but also approachable, kind, and genuinely interested in fostering a positive candidate experience.
The interview process began with a concise 20-minute video screening with HR, followed by a timed take-home exercise designed to evaluate my approach to prioritization and organization. Once that was reviewed, I progressed to a one-hour video interview with two Directors. They alternated asking insightful questions about my previous experience, working style, and my approach to handling confidentiality, security, and prioritization challenges.
From there, I was invited to a virtual coffee chat with an analyst and a department manager. This casual yet meaningful interaction encouraged me to ask candid questions and gain authentic insight into Moonshot’s culture. The final stage was a one-hour meeting with one of the co-founders, who posed thought-provoking, scenario-based questions that required me to think on my feet. This conversation also included discussions about managing complex situations, providing exceptional client communications, and areas where I could grow and stretch professionally. Finally, I was asked to provide 3 professional references and passed a background check.
Key takeaways:
1) The process was thorough, efficient, and respectful of my time.
2) Everyone I met was intelligent, welcoming, and clearly passionate about their work.
3) The culture stood out as intentional, ethical, and employee-focused.
Now that I've joined the team and had the chance to meet more people—including founders, leadership, and staff—I can confidently say my impressions were accurate. Moonshot is full of smart, kind, and talented individuals who have created an exceptional work environment. I highly recommend interviewing with and working for Moonshot!
