Had a phone interview and a face-to-face interview. Both interviews seemed fine and interviewers friendly. Nice office. They asked about my experience and background in both interviews, which was also detailed in my CV.
Phone interview was about 30 mins. The face-to-face interview was 2 hours - first hour being a written technical test of questions.
However from feedback after the face-to-face interview, they said I did well with the technical test but didn't have enough experience. If that was the case, they should never have interviewed me to start with and wasted my time by leading me on from the beginning - where I had to take time off work for interviewing with them.
My CV showed them what I was qualified in and my background / skills and experience was discussed over the phone regarding what I had done / not done in my career. At the face-to-face interview, I was told they wanted the candidate to be willing to learn, grow and not be set in their ways.
Interestingly, I was told by the recruiter who delivered the rejection news that they had then decided to pull the role. I was also told that the company didn't seem to know what they were after in terms of the position. In addition, I note the role had been advertised for some time, which suggests they may not have realistic expectations in a suitable candidate.
