I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Morningstar in Oct 2019
Interview
It was a fairly straight forward online application which lead to a phone screen, and then an invitation request to attend a 1:1 onsite. At this point, Morningstar completely dropped the ball and failed to follow up. They were unable to schedule their resources for a two-hour session and stopped returning my emails.

Question 1
I was not asked any serious technical, behavioral or personal questions during the interview.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Morningstar (Sydney) in Mar 2016
Interview
Pretty straightforward discussion, arranged by HR in Chicago and over the phone.
Got an introduction to the company and an overview of the teams which was fine - was asked questions about my background and projects though no real enthusiasm or attempt to build a rapport, polite enough conversation though.
Annoying part - notification that I wasn't successful was a "form email" from HR the next day - extremely impersonal (especially since they'd gone through a recruiter) and frankly, pretty pathetic for an international company. Left a very bad impression.
