      Animal Technician Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Multnomah County (Portland, OR) in Jan 2026

      Interview

I originally applied to this job in May 2025 and other than the automatic email that my application was received, I didn't hear anything back until January 2026 where I got an email to do a virtual interview. Day of the interview, I received an email 30 minutes prior that had 9 questions in it that I would be asked during the interview. I had prepped some of the basic customer service questions and some answers that I thought of based off the job posting. The questions sent had nothing to do with what I had prepared and I was a nervous wreck throughout the entire thing. When the interview started, I learned that the two managers interviewing me had been there for 6 months or less (one manager 6 months, the other 2 months). The interviewers were nice and professional. But given the long time frame and the red flag of management having been in their positions for less than a year, I wasn't disappointed to get the TBNT on a Saturday morning.
