I applied online. I interviewed at NYU Langone Health
Interview
Back 12 years ago, their HR page used to list the name and contact of recruiters who were in charge of types of jobs you were applying. So, I just e-mailed that person asking her to distribute my resume to all faculty members in certain departments of my interest. I was then contacted by several faculty members for interviews.
However, my recent dealing with the HR tells me that they are not serious about their job or incompetent. They do not seem to know the difference between biomedical research in a lab setting and clinical research. They also do not know the difference between a biomedical research lab and phlebotomy lab. They think that if you can run PCR and pipet in the lab, you can also draw blood from patients.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I decided to interview only with a faculty member in cancer research. She asked about my knowledge of immunology, lab techniques, my publication records etc.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at NYU Langone Health (New York, NY) in Sept 2023
Interview
Horrible interview process. First, an email is sent to complete some 100 questions which is sent via email (super irritating as there could be some workday or some website to store the answers rather than take it each time). Than, an email is sent to conduct a video call with the manager. Let & behold, the manager already had an internal candidate chosen (her exact words). Such a torpid experience.

Question 1
Typical lab based questions, behaviorial questions, start date availability, job role description
Initial zoom meeting to discuss the position and what makes you a good fit for the role. After this, a panel interview was scheduled with different lab personnel where you also get to ask questions.

Question 1
Tell me about yourself, why did you apply for this role and what makes you a good candidate.
The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at NYU Langone Health (New York, NY) in Mar 2017
Interview
I interviewed with the PI who then hired me the same day. The HR process is painstakingly long. The HR staff move slowly and were not particularly responsive via email or telephone.
