I applied in-person. The process took 8 months. I interviewed at National Security Agency (Atlanta, GA) in Mar 2011
Interview
It was an 8 month process. The longest portion was the security review. If they are interested, you will receive a conditional offer early on in the process. That does not yet mean that you have actually received the job. You will undergo individual interviews, psychological screening, possibly a polygraph and intense personal scrutiny in order to gain a clearance.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at National Security Agency (Fort Meade, MD) in Dec 2024
Interview
The interview process consisted of a writing assessment, aptitude test and video interview. They were all timed tests, which determined your ability to work under pressure. The video interview was a little awkward, not the questions themselves but the time you had to think of your answer and watching the timer count down as you answered.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at National Security Agency (Huntsville, AL) in Dec 2023
Interview
HireVue webcam interview with limited time to answer the questions. It was definitely a unique experience. Once you got over the fact of speaking into a camera it began to flow moderately easy.

Interview
A set of standard questions related to my past experiences and why I would like to work there. Very open-ended, so I felt able to share everything I wanted to share.
