Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell ne about your experience working with student data
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at National Student Clearinghouse
Interview
Interview process was thorough. There was a singular video response where you have 2 minutes to prepare to answer a question, and then respond with a recording of yourself. You then go to a second interview where you give a presentations critiquing the publications and answer any questions the team may have.

Question 1
Q: How large of datasets have you worked with in the past?
Q: What coding experience do you have?
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at National Student Clearinghouse in Dec 2010
Interview
The human resources dept. scheduled the interview then called back twice to reschedule. When I arrived for the interview, I was told that it would take 4 hours, which I was not informed of prior to the interview. I had other commitments which precluded me from staying for the entire interview. I agreed to stay for 1 1/2 hours for the "Behavior Description Interview", which was led by the HR director and two other staff members. The HR director informed me that my responses to her questions would be "scored." She then asked questions pertaining to how I had handled situations in my prior position and requested dates and names to back up my responses. When asked to describe a situation where my decision making had not resulted in a positive outcome, I replied that I always give careful thought to my decision making and could not think of a time when it had not resulted in a positive outcome. I was told that I would receive a zero if I did not answer the question and give an example. I have never experienced such intimidation like that in an interview. Then she announced that it was time for a ten-minute break, and they all traipsed out of the conference room, leaving me sitting in the conference room for ten minutes without even an offer of water or coffee.
The rest of the interview, which I did not stay for, consisted of an interview with the senior manager, a realistic job preview, technical interview, and interview with hiring manager. I had an overall creepy feeling about the place and was never so thankful to leave an interview, knowing I did not have the job.
