I applied after seeing the job posting online. I heard back almost a month after I submitted my resume and cover letter. They also required a portfolio as the role included design responsibilities.
My first interview was a 3-person panel. I was informed that if I were moved to the next round, then I would speak with someone else. This took a few weeks as they decided to interview as they were in the middle of planning a conference. Upon hearing that I moved to the next round, I interviewed with another person on the team and I was told that there was an interview assignment to complete.
Frankly, it felt a little burdensome to submit a portfolio and also complete an assignment that required similar items found in my portfolio. It also assumes that applicants have personal access to all of the same programs and equipment that they may use professionally - which was not the case for me. After the two interviews and assignment, I was told they were moving forward with another candidate. For future applicants, I do hope the organization shortens the time it takes to schedule interviews, reevaluates if both a portfolio and an assignment are needed, and clearly outlines their interview process in their job descriptions.
