I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Nectar Life in Jun 2025
Interview
HR called me for an interview and insisted on me coming and try for an interview so I accepted it despite I didn't have any relevant retail experience. Interview with store manager went really well, whereby they talked about the company, expectations etc etc.
They offered me a job so I accepted as I want to try something new. We signed the contract and was ready for training a few days later.
I went for training for 4hrs and colleagues and manager guided me on product knowledge, demostration etc etc.
In the end, the company decided to terminate my contract as they felt I wasn't suitable and want someone with experience. Felt like my time was wasted.
Please inform your HR that you want staff with experience and do your job postings properly. Please do not waste everyone's time.
The first interview with corporate was great and got me excited to learn more about the company! Unfortunately, red flags popped up through the second interview with the district manager.
She was late to the interview by a few minutes, which I don’t usually mind. Life happens. I do think she should have finished chewing her food before joining the call and speaking, though. Immediately launching into how busy she was and insinuated that we would have to rush through the interview also set an odd tone.
I was told that she was hiring down for these roles, meaning if someone applied for Store Manager they needed to have District Manager experience, or an Assistant Manager at minimum needed Store Manager experience. I took that as an opportunity to clarify some of my roles and experience, but she interrupted me and said she was the “mayor of the mall” and knew how all of the different places operated even though there was no way she’d know the circumstances behind my interim roles. She cut me off halfway through my second question for her because she was late for another meeting, but insisted we’d finish our discussion at the third interview.
She requested I send her three dates that I was free. I was already apprehensive after the second interview about being underpaid for a role I’m overqualified for (commission sounds like the real money maker in this role, so I wasn’t too worried), and additional comments about the lack of work/life balance. However, I was willing to learn more before making a decision. As requested, I sent the dates and times, but never received a response. I was also ignored after a follow-up message too.
While the interview with HR was great, the DM showed an unprofessional lack of courtesy and communication.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Nectar Life (Las Vegas, NV) in Oct 2022
Interview
Received 1st interview. I was first advised that I would be interviewing with the customer care manager and HR. The day of the interview, I was advised by the girl in HR that the Customer Service Manager wasn't there. I sat in the whole interview telling her all about my work experience. I had too ask her about the company and what the position entailed. She then told me that she wanted too set me up with HR for another interview. I agreed. The following week I met with a young lady in HR. She asked me the same questions. At the end of the interview she asked me if I would be available the following week to meet with a gentleman higher up too see if I'd be a good fit. I agreed too meet with him. The following week came and I received an email advising me that unfortunately my application wasn't considered for the position. And I am more than welcome to apply for any other position. I felt like my time was wasted. And they had fake intentions regarding my interview.
