I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Network Rail (London, England) in Jul 2020
Interview
I applied to this company twice and on both occasion got an interview. The first time; I was contacted several weeks by the internal recruiter that claimed that he forgot about the process and proceeded to invite me for an interview. The position was based in London as would the interview but received an email short notice that the interview would be conducted outside London. I informed them that this was not a possibility for me given the details stated within the JD and by the recruiter himself and proposed that I would wait until the interview can be conducted in London but heard nothing. I decided to decline because this raised red flags as to how disorganised the company would be internally.
I then reapplied again for the same post a few months after and got an email almost immediately that a video interview will be conducted and should await details. Within the same week; I received the link and completed the video interview in July 2020 but did not hear any follow ups until September 2020 which I thought was appalling and within the same pattern they had displayed during my first application. Fortunately they declined to advance my application and did not disclose the reason why. I noticed that they re-advertised the role yet again but on a FTC basis so that may be why they declined to advance as my experience, knowledge and credentials matches the JD they provided. Additionally; the salary they offered was well below the average market so not a big loss.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Standard HR related; asked how I would address HR challenges within the business.
can be slow at times and very little communication early on in the process. But overall a good process comprising of initial test, video interview and then two stage interview process
