I have been working as an iOS developer for about 9 years. I get an email from a recruiter from Noom, who said this was a remote opportunity. Gave them my phone number and had them call me, asked me how many years experience I have an other questions like my immigration status. And general recruiter questions about why Noom would be a preference and what kinda environment style I like to work in. That's it. this call went on for about 20-25 minutes. Before they asked if I had any questions and before they hung up they mentioned that they shouldn't have a problem sponsoring H1 Visa and said, that they will bring the resume to their Manager and that I should hear back in a couple days.
Fast forward a couple days later, I get an automated email that my application, after great consideration was rejected and they have decided to move with another candidate.
This really really confused me, Noom realized there is a better candidate even without an actual interview? Fine, something I said in the interview probably didn't match their requirement. I think for someone who accepted to take half hour out of their work life to talk to the recruiter deserves to hear a better answer and the actual reason for not moving forward with their candidature.
I find it really unprofessional and I also emailed to the recruiter about me not being happy about the lack of reasoning in the rejection email.
Will really suggest if a recruiter from Noom is trying to get in touch with you. Just don't answer the call unless you are really desperate for a job. I repeat, I really suggest not associating with unprofessional recruiters like the one who called me.
