I was contacted by a recruiter which called and set up an interview. When you show up at the office for the interview you will be impressed by the environment, however; the first interview is very fast they are checking to see if you are presentable. The interviewer gives basic information about Advertising and Marketing not displaying what the company really does. When the first interview concludes they say they will call you in one to two days to schedule an observing period.
You will then be assigned to a trainer that shows you what they do. You will be taken to their "promotional event locations" which are held at gas stations around Virginia. They set up their table with the "product" which is a water less car wash. They ask people who pull up if they could do a free demonstration then proceed to sell the product. It is purely a technique of cold direct marketing.
Since I did not return after the observational I don't have any insight on how the economics of this business work. I do believe from discussion that you pay for health, dental, etc.. and also the commission on a $25.00 can is 40%. You are outside 8 hours or more hours a day and the job is commission based.
If you aren't into sales or being outside asking every single person who pulls up to get gas if you can do a free demonstration may not be for you. The Owner in my opinion uses kids that go out and fill his pockets while the owner can sit back and let everyone else do his work for him. DO NOT be tricked by this companies NAME it has nothing to do with what they actually are doing!
