I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Northrop Grumman (Rancho Bernardo, CA) in Jun 2016
Interview
Applied online, had a phone interview a couple of weeks later and then an on-site interview a week or two after that. Mostly question about your experience, projects in school, favorite courses etc. Very pleasant experience, friendly interviewers (4). Be yourself, know your skills and be ready to talk about things on your resume and experience/ projects in school.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Northrop Grumman in Dec 2022
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter and he suggested I go to their hiring event. It was through that hiring event I got an in-person interview. The interview itself was fairly straightforward. He talked to me about NG and asked if I knew about NG and why I wanted to join. I was also asked about relevant school work. (I finished my Master's about 2 years ago and I was applying for an entry level position so this is expected). I was also asked some basic CS questions related to object oriented programming. Overall, the interview process was pleasant. Out of all the interviews I've had, this interview was the most relaxed I felt. Even before coming into the interview, I got to meet some employees and it was great chatting with them. I highly recommend going to a hiring event.

Question 1
What coursework and projects have you done relevant to this position? What is inheritance? Why do you want to work for Northrop Grumman? What do you know about Northrop Grumman? Why are you looking for a job? (I was working as a software developer for another company).

Interview
A recruiter reached out after seeing my resume in the Grace Hopper database. We scheduled a 1-hour phone interview with an engineer for later that week.
I ended up getting the offer about an hour after the interview. I'm not sure if this is common, but I think the turnaround was so fast because Northrop was actively interviewing people at the Grace Hopper conference that day and giving out offers on the spot.
The interview was easy, but it was also a good screen for my basic technical skills and interest in doing embedded software.
