I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Atlanta, GA) in Nov 2011
Interview
The interviews are very simple, no technical questions like you may find in banking or financial analysis. It's a people oriented job, so they just want to see what kind of person you are, and if you're motivated enough to do this. It's more like making small talk than a strict interview where you're outnumbered 5 to 1, which is good because in this business you're going to have a lot of conversations.
I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Hartford, CT)
Interview
Was told about the program and how I would need to get certified to sell life insurance in order to participate in the program. The interviewer was laid back and relaxed. It was a group interview.
I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (San Jose, CA)
Interview
Three rounds with calls with the head of hiring and with the head of the department, all behavioral questions were asked at each round to get to know you and your network
I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Washington, DC)
Interview
Very basic and straightforward behavioral questions, nothing technical. Have a good idea of what you would be doing and why you want to work there so that you can speak to your skillset and how it aligns with the job description.
