Series of interviews that began with an information session, followed by a basic "get to know you" interview where you learn more about the position, followed by a final interview
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Sacramento, CA) in May 2020
Interview
There are 3 interviews with different people who work at that location.
First, I talked to the college recruiter who asked me basic interview questions. Then I spoke with one of the training directors which was more information about the position. She then gave me a questionnaire to conduct to as many people as possible before I spoke with an actual advisor who gave more insight on his career path and his experience with the internship.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They give you a list of questions to ask/interview 15 people regarding their thoughts about about the financial services industry. (Almost like a tryout to see if you are able to talk and network with people )
Straight forward and easy. Consisted of a call and a zoom interview. First with a recruiter and then with a full time rep that was part of the internship. Fairly easy and straight forward.
Sales focused interview. Need to provide a list of 200 people and their contact info to pass the interview, and once you're hired you'll have to contact all those people.
