      Surgeon Education Coordinator Interview

      17 Sept 2011
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Paramus, NJ
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at NuVasive (Paramus, NJ) in Sept 2011

      Interview

After submitting resume, I received repeated calls from HR (in CA). HR person would leave messages but then was difficult to reach when returning her calls. Twice, I was able to connect. First, I was told that she was leaving for the day and would call me between 11:30am - 1:30pm the next day - she never called. The second time I was finally able to reach her after returning yet another message from her, she told me that she was in the middle of reference checks and would call me after 4:30pm that same day. She didn't call back again. Nearly a month after submitting my resume, this same HR person called me out of the blue for a surprise phone interview, during which interview her tone was argumentative and unpleasant. I called a few days later and left message thanking her for her time and expressed my interest in the company and inquired if the hiring process had progressed. No return call. From the research that I had done on this company, I was interested in the position and the company and my background was a perfect match for the job description. However, after this negative experience with the initial point of contact from this company, it has left a bad impression about the company as a whole.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Questions were basic: asked about my background and experience. No difficult questions during the phone interview.
