The recruitment process was gross. They outsource the job to a harassing and lying company, w3global. If you don't answer whatever point of contact they try first, they hit every single other one, without fail. And then they hand it off to another agent to do the same. They make you sign a right to represent to be considered. I told them my comp number was 85 (low for the area and job, also important later) and they talked me down to 80. I got the interview and it was specified that it was to be online because of their scheduling conflicts, even though I'm in the same town. That's really ok. But I showed up and only one person showed up because the rest thought it was in person. After waiting a little bit, another joined and we continued. I was told this was not to be a technical interview by the recruiter, but easily 70% of the questions were technical, including walking them through an app I built. The folks I spoke to were kind and affable. I would have had zero problems working with them. The kicker came when they asked my comp req....again. They then made it very clear that the listing was for 75, but that's not it at all. It's actually set up to be 66k + a 1% "bonus" a month that has to be earned. The low-end pay for a front-end engineer in Wichita is 90. So if you're asking yourself, "should I work for a company that charges up to 600%+ on payday loans to broke people"? The answer is probably no.
