One of the most awful interview experience and feedback that was not justified in my case, it was an informal interview with no chance to output my skills as they went on blabbing about how great their team is and how greatly their CEO speaks to the cleaner. Consequently, not even asking about my skillset and what do I bring to the role.
I have worked for one of the BIG4 accounting firms and one of the top US IBs yet they had the audacity to revert back to my agency with the feedback of "We expected more considering the fact that he is from "....." Investment bank". Now this automatically implies the fact that if someone else from a smaller scale firm performed the same as me; they'd essentially land the role.
Also, implying "How did he even work for those firms". I have had interviews at many big banks, consulting firms, asset management firms etc...Never have I ever received a such unprofessional demining feedback in the past 3 years in the professional industry.
Rather than assessing my interview skills, clarity and enthusiasm they instead tried mocking my intelligence by questionings how I've worked for such elite level firms.
They seemed drastically desperate to hire but assuming they went for someone cheaper, at least revert back with honest critical feedback rather than trying to mock my intellect and unequally increasing the barrier for me just because I am coming from such reputable firms?
I am sure the broader teams are amazing and it may have been my unlucky day to be interviewed by such illiterates.
If you are reading this, your amazingly bad interviewing skills and feedback is not going to stop me progressing. In fact, thanks for declining as I am surely going to end up somewhere better.
