      Product Manager Interview

      2 Nov 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Boston, MA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at O'Reilly Media (Boston, MA) in Sept 2016

      Interview

VERY POOR MANNERS! Applied online and was contacted by HR to set up an in-office meeting. The meeting went very well, and it carried over from the scheduled time. I felt I connected with people I met, and felt good about how everything went. The next week I was again contacted by HR to set up a Skype interview with a PM abroad. This interview went badly--he showed little emotion and seemed to want to be elsewhere. The worst part of the interview process was the followup, which was non-existent. Despite sending several emails to both HR and my possible boss, all went unanswered until a week later, when I received a computer-generated email informing me that my background wasn't a good fit. I figured they would have the courtesy to email me directly, considering how much time I spent with them. But I guess not.
