I applied online. I interviewed at OMP (Brussels) in Dec 2020
Interview
A colossal waste of time, quite unprofessional hiring process.
Four calls, each about 90 minutes; every call has up to two interviewers. You speak with different levels: HR manager, a senior software development manager, an associate director, director of product development, director of software development, director of architecture. Because of COVID, this happened entirely online; then you are normally invited in the office for f2f with management.
The whole process took a couple of months (this is already a bit weird); but it continued somehow smoothly until the end, with interviewers clearly expressing interest at the end of the interview, in a couple of calls even going past the time limit to keep interviewing me...
Then after a few days from the last interview, a mail from HR formally confirms interest, but also asks to be patient as the team has to make up its mind about which role suits me best (there were 2 available).
Then silence for a month, after which HR regrets to inform that they did not manage to agree on the role. Apologies are issues for the situation, but no clear explanation is given; funnily enough, HR asks if I would be interested to have my profile screened again for other roles in the future.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Classic questions about how would you manage people, teams, projects and risk in the context of developing a large software solution.
Some classic questions such as describing a situation where you contributed positively to the success of the team and one situation in which things didn't go as expected and how you reacted.
Some generic questions about cloud technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes and pitfalls in designing cloud native solutions.
