I applied in-person. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Old Navy (Thunder Bay, ON) in Oct 2013
Interview
The interview process was in 3 parts. I was fairly nervous but all the managers were very friendly and welcoming. I went to a job fair in October on a Sunday and was told I had gotten the job by the following Wednesday. The first interview had typical interview questions (Tell me about yourself, explain a time you were put in a leadership position and how you handled it, why old navy etc). After this, I also had to take an online test about customer service that took about 25 min. The test gave you a situation and then asked you to rank the given courses of action based on what you would do (you could choose from things like 'would not do', 'would definitely do', 'would maybe do' etc) The second interview was in a group (myself and one other person) were interviewed by 2 assistant managers. They went back and forth asking us questions about the brand and then we played a game where we went through the store and picked an outfit for a certain occasion then explained why we chose the peices for the outfit and why it was practical and fashionable. We were asked to bring an item that represents ourselves to this interview. I honestly don't think it's a big deal what you pick as they are just trying to get to know you and see what you are passionate about. In this interview there were also questions confirming that you would be able to work all the way through the holiday season. I would recommend that you know for a fact working through the holidays will not be a problem because if you are going to leave to visit family or something during this time, they probably won't hire you as they want people who can work the full holiday season start to finish. The next round of interviews was one on one with the assistant manager. The questions were more relaxed and seemed more personal. I was asked about my best friend and the qualities I admire in that person. I mentioned integrity and how they are very caring of other people and want others to be happy. After this interview was over I was told before I left that I had received the job. At the location that I worked at I would consider the managment to be great. They were friendly, helpful and welcoming. This store doesn't seem to have very high turnover as many people who worked at my location had been there for years.

Interview
Applied through simplyhired.com. got an email for their hiring event. Went. The first interview was a quick and brief interview at a table with questions like tell me about yourself. Then went on to the next phase. A group activity we had to see our outfit we had on. Then then either sent you home or you went on the the final interview stage
It was a group interview with several people, about 5 to 8 others, and one manager doing the interviewing. He asked basic interview questions to get to know everyone and to test their skills.
