After I applied for this position, the HR contacted me via email letting me know that my profile seems interesting to them and asked me for my expectations in terms of salary. She then set me up with the Head of Product Design for the first round of interview. The talk was fairly informal where the Head of the department asked me for what I had been doing, and also explained what the position they were looking to fill needed from the potential hire. I then had 2 more rounds of interviews with cross-functional teams. They all liked me. I received an email from the HR that there were some amazing positive feedback from everyone and that I would be briefed about the next steps. Talent Acquisition from UK called me to negotiate numbers in terms of salary and finally we agreed on a certain number. He informed me that I should be receiving the contract and next steps the very next day. The next day, he emailed me apologizing that there were misunderstandings between the finance and business leadership and asked me if I would be willing to work for a salary that is even below my current salary! Amazing professionalism this company has. I wished I could attach screenshots of the email exchanges too. The overall interview process was 3 weeks, all went waste because the HR and finance were not in alignment. Just imagine the gap in communication of this wonderful company that expects to grow leaps and bounds in the coming years!
