I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at One10 (Troy, MI) in Feb 2020
Interview
The interviewer seemed disinterested in hearing anything about me.
He spent most of the time telling me about the work the company did, during which I was able to squeeze in a few questions. Never did we get to a point where he asked me anything about myself, my background or even technical questions.
Then after this another guy who was on a conference line said they wanted me to take a PSD design they had and code it in any way I wanted in 30 min.
This sounded ok to me but he then tells me to use "slicing" which is a practice I haven't used in many years and seemed a bit out of touch with FE web development in the way he described the task.
They then hand me a MacBook that I am completely unfamiliar with in terms of what software is installed so I spend the first 5 min at least just looking at what IDE or CLI tools are installed.
Long story short, I go off the PSD and code at least a few of the elements of course not doing any slicing and they stop the timer and basically just say goodbye.
I think this place is looking for devs that can whip up fast HTML templates for automotive marketing. If you enjoy slicing PSDs into HTML maybe a good fit for you.
I know its not for me. They didn't seem the slightest interested in me as a person which made me glad to move on.
