I applied online. I interviewed at Optiver (Amsterdam) in Oct 2024
Interview
The interview process overall was great. Everyone that interviewed me was friendly and well-informed. They gave a lot of the benefit of the doubt, because they understand people are nervous. Responses were prompt and helpful and it was a seamless process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
In the behavioural interview, they asked me mostly about my hobbies, how I plan to get better at them, why I like them, what my future goals for them are.
In the first technical interview they presented a set of scenarios (drawing cards, rolling dice, flipping coins) and asked me to buy and sell certain outcomes based on the profit the platform was offering. Once the trades were made the scenarios would run and the profits would be calculated. They asked me to see how much profit I could make in a small window.
OA followed by a behavioural interview then two technical interviews focusing on probability and trading games with limited information. After that would have been a Super Day but I was rejected following the second technical interview.
