Skype interview with two staff members for 45 minutes. Have been exchanging emails, expressed my interest in the team, received positive feedback on my research paper, got an interview offer.

Mostly about one's research skills skipping basic questions. The questions were quite probing and against my expectation as I assumed getting basic questions such as one's strengths and weaknesses

Informal introduction through network to HR personnel who sent across my CV to department for consideration. Had face to face formal interview with department's hiring team including the Head of Department . The interview lasted an hour with questions about experience and how I would respond in certain situations. I don't think I would've had the interview if I didn't have the initial connection to HR, who fast tracked the process
