Interview
Very nice people, easy to talk to. First recruiter was very down to earth. Then there were two back to back interviews, first interview was very easy and general questions about my resume, second interview was more in depth and went on a deep dive into my resume.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at PENNYMAC in May 2026
Interview
Interview process consisted of approximately four rounds and took about a month from start to finish. The final round was conducted in person at the office and included an Excel assessment earlier in the process.
The interviewers were professional, knowledgeable, and pleasant to speak with. My only criticism is the length of the process relative to the communication afterward. After investing significant time in multiple interview rounds and assessments, I would have appreciated a final update or rejection decision. Overall, they were a friendly team, but the candidate communication could be improved.

Question 1
How fast am I going on a bike if I rode 5 miles in 20 min?
The process was pretty easy. A couple rounds and you meet the whole team. They might bring you in person if you live near by. Not too technical as long as you know the basics of the mortgage industry.
