I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at PIMCO
Interview
I was contacted by email by a junior HR person and then scheduled to speak to a recruiter. The interview was very "Pimco" to the point, focused heavily on my technical understanding of fixed income (they always ask about bond valuation, convexity and duration) at a high level. The recruiter was short, seemingly disinterested or annoyed, and clearly in a hurry to get the interview over with. After the interview I was told that someone would reach back to inform me of the outcome. I tried following up once and was told to wait another week. When nobody provided and update, I wrote back again to the recruiter, and also to the HR person. No response.
The truth is that if this was the first time I have the exact same experience with Pimco I would not rate this as a negative experience. However, this was the second time they reached out to me, and the second time that I experienced the exact same behavior described above.

Question 1
Talk about your experience with fixed income products.
What do you understand about duration and convexity?
Why interested in Pimco?
Why are leaving your current role?
Consulting type of interview. We went through many different questions all very hands-on practical questions that I only would've known if I had more experience, even though I was a new hire. I really was thrown off as I thought this was a asset management company.

Question 1
What would you do if there was an inquiry from an insurer general account?
It was a positive experience, the teams were friendly, asked interesting questions. About 4 rounds 8 people. Some market questions and the rest of the questions were resume and personality-based.

HireVue first round, then superday with multiple senior leaders from across the firm. All very friendly and welcoming. Some mix of technical and behavioural questions. Good mix of probing questions and more open ended questions about background etc.
