      Partner Account Manager Interview

      1 Jul 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Seattle, WA
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at PacketFabric (Seattle, WA) in Jul 2021

      Interview

I was presented with multiple job descriptions of positions availble at PacketFabric by my recruiter. Two of them appealed to me and seemed to fit my skillset, although to be perfectly honest I had no practical physical networking background (layers 1-3) and knew going in that I would be facing a pretty steep learning curve. My first interview was 45 minutes scheduled with the hiring manager. We talked for 90. My takeaway was that she was brilliant and I would have to hit the ground running in order to be successful. My second interview was with a senior network architect. The brilliance continued and I knew this person was going to become somebody I will need to lean on (heavily). My third interview was with a co-founder. At this stage I was seeing a pattern, everyone I have met thus far appeared to have genius level IQs and I was second guessing myself and whether or not I was going to be able to materially contribute to this startup? My fourth and last interview was with another CxO person, who (after sleuthing his background and learning, once again this is a person at the top of his game) put me at ease and to be honest left me with hope there might be a spot for me on this team. I was working full time for my previous employer so matching up my availability (due to work-travel and meetings etc) to schedule all of these interviews extended about 4 weeks. The company was in the midst of a number of fundraising and acquisition activities so their getting out an offer letter to me took perhaps another 2 weeks. I immediately accepted and put in my own 2 week notice, adding a week (for personal time off) we set my start date. So the entire process from first contact to first day on the new job was about 9 weeks for me.

      Question 1

In all four cases the one question (or topic) that was of concern was my background working in the channel.
