I believe the interview process is indicative of the culture at this company so I have no complaints or regrets with their decision to move forward with another candidate. I was first contacted by the recruiter via text for a phone screen. Then was scheduled for a series of interviews with the hiring manager, senior-level staff, the team, other teams, and their bosses too. It was a bizarre process riddled with endless calls and meetings, an onsite, sharing my writing samples, them calling my references, and a homework writing assignment that stretched over months. At a point I was confused and thought I was being Punk'd (I literally asked the recruiter) because this is not a supervisor-level role. It would be a lateral move from my current position and I had never seen such a drawn out process before. In the end, after countless hours of communication, the hiring manager sent a long email with details of feedback that basically stated no offer.
