I submitted my resume and was contacted by someone in HR at the company who told me that my background looked like a good fit for the position. A call with the hiring manager was scheduled for the next day. This was followed by a technical assessment that I did at home and sent back to the hiring manager. An in person interview was then scheduled for the following week. I had back to back interviews with 6 members of the staff and was there for about 5 hours. At the end of this long interview session, I was told that there were other candidates to interview but that I would hear back from them once they had made a decision. I was not contacted the following week nor the week after that but instead followed up myself via email. I was not offered the position. It is, unfortunate, in my opinion, that my investment of time and interest in the company and the job was not felt to warrant even a simple "Sorry we have chosen a different candidate ..." email to let me I was not chosen for the position. In my view, that is common courtesy and I would expect it when dealing with professional people.
