The interview process at Partners Therapeutics was thorough and well-structured. The team was highly professional, and it was clear that the company has a strong mission and collaborative culture. I had the opportunity to meet nearly everyone from the R&D team, as well as several individuals from cross-functional teams I would potentially be working with.
The process spanned nearly three months and included an initial interview with HR, a follow-up with the hiring manager, and an extensive virtual panel interview lasting four hours (with only a 15-minute break), which also included a presentation. I appreciated the effort to keep this stage virtual instead of onsite.
However, about a week after the virtual session, I was unexpectedly asked to travel to Seattle to meet the same team in person. While I understand the importance of in-person interaction, this last-minute request was somewhat inconsiderate, especially given the current challenges many candidates face in the job market. It is important to mention that the virtual interview was suggested by HR team to avoid flying me to Seattle for an onsite interview, so what happened suddenly?
Overall, it was a valuable experience, and I was impressed by the people and the company, though I believe the process could be made more considerate and transparent for applicants.
