I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Pave in Feb 2026
Interview
Recruiter reached out, interview was scheduled and he spent a good 15-20 minutes talking about the company, format and what to expect in this role. I appreciated the transparency of exactly what I'm walking into. Pretty casual, a few simple questions for myself and then the typical hiring questions at the end.
Second round, they explained what the role entailed and was being handled by her and a second person. Splitting the HR duties in 2 and then we dove into a bit more about the systems that I used and they used. It was a casual conversation.
Third interview was definitely more, a feel for the role/vibe check with the team and essentially me asking all the questions that I wanted to know. Both my second and third round lasted an hour vs 30 minutes. I was asked only one question which was, tell me something about yourself that I can't find on your resume or LinkedIn?
In the end, the recruiter emailed saying they needed a candidate with a different set of skillsets from mine even though I used 70% of the systems and vendors that they already have and operate.
They haven't had an HR person for a year now. Both left summer of 2025 and they hired someone else in December, but that wasn't a fit + personal reasonings. The role is still open even though I interviewed back in Feb.
This is a lean company focusing on their product and revenue, so that means growth and headcount will be much slower.

Why are you looking for other opportunities outside of "x" company?
I had 7 interviews over the course of 3 weeks with a technical project that you have to present to a fake client. I talked to the person who would me my manager, several peers, the VP of the department, the COO, and the CEO for the final round.
First round is a Screening Interview; Second Round has four interviews back to back interviews (behavioral, technical, case study, situational); Third Round is an Interview with the CEO; Fourth round is the Received Offer.
