I applied on Indeed for a manager position. They were quick to respond to me and I went in for my first interview. It was a short interview where the title and job description wasn't discussed. I was only asked if I have experience with a lot of dogs. Yes, I do. I've done management at a dog rescue shelter and have done vet tech work. During the interview I was invited to shadow for what I thought was the management position which I thought I was interviewing for. I went back for the shadow and they had me spend 50 mins with the dogs in the yard, even thought they told me it would be 30 minutes. Afterwards, when asked about expected compensation, I told them what was originally listed on Indeed. Then the interviewer said, "Ohhhh about that" then went on to tell me what they filled the job internally already and I was actually being interviewed for doggy yard person, a job that has high turn over rates because it's all high school and college kids. Then she said it pays only $12-13/hr which is significantly less than the job salary I THOUGHT I was interviewing for ($38-42k). She said she thought she told me about the mix up but nobody did and it seems like they avoided telling me about what happened in the first interview. Before they told me about the "mix up", it seemed like a place I'd want to work and the people seemed nice. However, their lack of transparency from the beginning is extremely upsetting and a waste of time.
