External recruiter set up an interview with the hiring manager. The position I was interviewing for was for Mobile automation. The interviewer asked me about my experience related to Appium and Selenium. Hiring manager knew I have experience with Python and not Ruby on Rails. Btw, they are Ruby on Rails shop. Despite not having experience with ruby they invited me for an in- person interview at their Sunnyvale location. I spoke with 3 people including hiring manager. Interview went well. They called me for another onsite interview with one more person immediately. Asked about
my experience with Appium and challenges faced. I got a response the next day saying they are looking for someone with ruby exp. They could have caught this clearly on my resume and my very first interview with them where I clearly communicated that I do not have ruby exp. Overall it was a waste of time
