I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Paychex (Ventura, CA) in Aug 2016
Interview
I first had a phone interview and had to take an assessment test, the following we I was called by someone in the Ventura office to schedule an in-person interview, which went pretty good. About two days after that, I received a phone called from the branch manager to schedule a one on one interview. Hands done it was a really good experience, and the people who interview do not at all make you feel intimated or feel that you are wasting your time.

Question 1
Describe a time when you made a mistake and how you handled it
I had two interviews. First one was with one manager and the second was with two other managers. The interview s lasted about 30 minutes each. They asked about my payroll background and several questions that started out with, "tell me about a time..."
Very simple. A round table interview with scenario-based questions. They ask mostly about previous interactions with co-workers as well as customers. It is a customer service job and you are dealing with payroll which can get very overwhelming
