I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Paycor (Lenexa, KS) in Aug 2013
Interview
Initial phone interview was a positive experience. HR Recruiter was knowledgable and personable. Provided me insight on the culture and the position. This is phase 1 of the process. A online assessment is conducted that is a combination of personality and skills testing.
In person interview was conducted. Hiring manager was professional and asked basic interview questions to determine suitability for the position.
Questions like:
Describe you most challenging project and how you handled it.
Describe how you handled a situation where you lost an existing customer.

Question 1
Describe how you handled a situation where you lost an existing customer.
Seemed standard and pleasant enough early in process. Disappointing practices in retrospect. Recruiter ghosted and went out of office without a backup contact for a week (email bounce back). No reply to follow ups on status.

Interview
There is a 30-minute call with the recruiter to review current jobs, discuss role responsibilities, and discuss salary expectations. After that there is two back-to-back 45 minute interviews scheduled with two different groups of managers. Although it seems like a lot it is so nice to get both interviews done at once!

Interview
Phone screen was very comfortable and casual. We went longer than the scheduled time and I really felt like I was making a connection. The in-person interview just seemed really strained, like the interviewers really didn't want to be there. Whether it was me or them, I just felt like I really wasn't able to articulate how I would be able to do the job.
