      Enterprise Account Executive Interview

      26 Jan 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Paylocity in Dec 2023

      Interview

The recruiting process ended up being a very unprofessional experience. I was initially contacted by their internal recruiter to see if I would be interested in their Enterprise Account Executive position. We had an initial conversation screened which was fine and then moved on to the Hiring Manager, which was great. I then interviewed with the RVP which I thought also went fine but I guess not. Their recruiter never followed up with me and ended up ghosting me. If they didn’t want to move forward with my candidacy, please have the courtesy to let me know. This reflects very poorly for this company since they are selling HR software. Also, I want to share there were 2 red flags that were concerning. For the Enterprise Account Executive, the starting salary is $125,000, which is very low in this market. But the real kicker is after 6 months in the position, they drop it to $100,000!! I have never seen this before. The other red flag is the commission structure. You are paid for services but only 50% of the earned commission is paid at the commencement of the implementation. The remaining 50% is withheld until the project is completed and the client is live, potentially extending the payout period over several months or even years.
