I applied through other source. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Peet's Coffee (Cupertino, CA) in Nov 2010
Interview
I had two interviews before it was decided I would be offered the job. My first interview was with the General Manager, and he was very welcoming in his approach to the interview. He asked me standard questions such as where I saw myself in 10 years, how do I handle customers when they're irate, etc. The whole process lasted maybe a half hour tops. My second interview was with the Assistant Manager, and that interview was more difficult if only because she was not as welcoming as the GM. She asked a lot of the same questions, so that threw me off -- I was afraid I had answered wrong.

Question 1
"If you were a Peet's product, what would you be? How would you sell yourself"
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Peet's Coffee
Interview
Good vibe from the person who interviewed me. In looking around during the interview everyone looked stressed out. I was surprised on how much you get to learn making coffee and that there is so much more to serving coffee, like having to prepare food in a toaster over, cleaning floors and machines, taking trash out, cleaning bathrooms, stocking shelves and having a smile while dealing with customers. I was also surprised at the low pay, which was a complete decision maker for me. During the interview I just kept thinking that I'd probably have to get a second job just to make ends meet. I also heard that I'd probably have to start work at 4:30 a.m. (seriously who gets up that early to drink coffee). The more I listened to the interviewer, the more I got a corporate vibe which was another turn off to working for Peets.

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Peet's Coffee (San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2015
Interview
Short and to the point. Only took about 10-20 minutes. Some stores do not require you to dress up for the interview, but it is always best to do so. Be sure to smile, it shows that you are friendly and can deliver good customer service. Be ready to answer situational questions.
