Our focus at Penguin is hiring for fit and culture vs. skills. Based off a resume or LinkedIn profile, our hiring managers can gauge if candidates can do the job, but - can you do the job right? Right, being to our standards, values and briefs. We’ve actually passed on a lot of really smart, talented people that we know can make an immediate impact on our top or bottom line, but if they’re not good for the company culture, we won’t hire them for that reason alone. That's why, for entry level positions, the interview process is more casual and conversational - we want to ensure there is a "click".
