The interview process was done by phone with a staffer from the magazine. I was asked to describe my work history and how it fit into People Magazine's tone, my knowledge and experience with doing entertainment writing, true crime, and celebrity as I was asked to write across sections, and how adaptable I am to both independent work and a team environment. The response time from the company was prompt.

They asked about how you work in a team environment, what shift you would be comfortable with taking, what your experience is with entertainment, crime, and celebrity news writing, and whether you know the style of writing that People Magazine engages in.

Interview
Interview with a recruiter at DotDash. Then an interview with one of the hiring managers. Followed by an edit test that they will give you 3 days to complete. It took couple of hours to do. Main problem with the edit test is every writer comes from different places where the style guide is different. If they are looking for someone to write in their style, it should’ve been mentioned. Also the test isn’t hard, anytime can do it, but they are looking for something specific. Idk what it is
