You must apply online.
Then you are asked to complete a Sparkhire video interview, usually 1-3 minute videos where they ask 4-8 questions. This process usually takes several hours to complete. Sometimes this part is skipped.
Then, they ask you to come in and do an interview in person with principal, sometimes a panel, sometimes just leadership. Sometimes this part is skipped.
Next, they have you come back to present a presentation for a performance task. This performance task has you create a PD based on criteria they have given you. You then come back for an interview with a panel of people. The people on the panel include the principal, a district level administrator and then a mix of people from the school. After you finish the 15 minute presentation, they ask you regular interview questions. This part is never skipped. They always make Master Teacher candidates go through this process.
Then after that, many of the principals tell you you did a great job, then they give you a timeline for when they will contact you.
Next you wait, and usually the principals contact after the time that they had said they would contact you, maybe 5 days later than promised or so. But most principals do not contact you at all. Then you find out later that the position was filled internally by a friend, the board minutes, or another teacher who works at the school.
Even if you are more qualified or just as qualified as the internal candidate. They typically only fill the positions with people they already know or work with. Their feedback is to keep trying and you are great, just that they wanted someone who they already know, knows them, and their school.
