I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at PowerPublish
Interview
I worked with a recruiting company who put me in touch with PowerPost. There were a total of three interviews over a three-week period. The CEO was present at all of them: the first one with him and the Director of their Account Management team, the second one was with just the CEO and me, and the third with the CEO, my recruiter, and me.
The first interview had me waiting 15 minutes beyond our agreed upon time. The second interview I was waiting for 30 minutes. I let my recruiter know that I felt it was a bad sign that the CEO could not meet me on time for our mutually agreed upon interviews. By the third interview, he was on time, but I was already having serious reservations.
The interviews largely consisted of the CEO talking about their company and there was very little inquisition on my work experience and history in the industry - which concerned me for this higher level position. Shouldn't they be asking about what value I can bring to them? It all felt very "desperate".
I also read other Glassdoor reviews that detailed a history of employees not getting paid on time. As someone with financial obligations and a family to support, this didn't appear to be worth the risk.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I was not asked many questions outside of general overall work history.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at PowerPublish in May 2017
Interview
Phone interview first, then offered to come in for an in-person interview. Spoke to multiple people on various teams, everyone was friendly, upbeat, and a little quirky. Mostly young employees. A balance of work related questions and personality related questions.
I applied online. I interviewed at PowerPublish (Saint Louis, MO) in Mar 2017
Interview
Very uncomfortable- left like I was getting in the way. The owner talked to me for 2 minutes and then threw me with the other creatives who were not prepared or had been given a warning that they would talk to me. I was sad because I felt like an inconvenience.
